Need more practice?

Hello students,

Many of you have asked me for more homework (!) so I am listing some helpful websites here for you to get extra practice. Enjoy!

  • Read and listen - a website with articles that you can read and listen to at the same time. Perfect for working on your English ear!

Don't forget that I recommended two applications for your mobile devices: Duolingo and Memrise. Here is a list of podcasts that can also help to improve your listening skills:

  • Storycorps - an American nonprofit that collects stories from people from all walks of life.
  • Culips - They have several podcasts. Try their "Simplified Speech" series where they talk normal English at a slower pace.

Whenever you have a free moment is a good time to practice your English!

Good luck!

Cheers,

Grecia

This is all you need to know about this blog...

Hello, dear reader!

I'm so glad you stopped by. My name is Grecia and I'm an EFL teacher in Algodonales, Spain.
I created this blog in order to have another line of communication with my students. However, because this site lives on the World Wide Web, I understand that some of you may be landing here from places other than Algodonales, Spain.

So, for those who need to know: this is a blog about the (fascinating!) English language. Here I will discuss all manner of things that may be useful to a student of English, a teacher of English, or a regular web surfer (with some interest in English, I hope). I will also link to things that I find interesting.

Since I'm the one writing this thing you might as well know that I'm American. I'll try to remember to include the British version of things, in case that's helpful, but I sometimes may forget or just not know. Give me a shout if you notice any missing pieces.

And there you have it!

Cheers,
Grecia
